This website is dedicated to our dear brother-in-law, Henry Rolando Arevalo, who is 42 years old. He is married to our sister, Emma, who has been his wife for nearly 15 years. They have been blessed with two beautiful children, Bianca Marina, 13 years old and Andrew Michael, 7 years old. Henry has always been a healthy person throughout his life and has never complained about any health issues. In fact, he always kept busy on the weekends, either playing in his soccer league or going deep sea fishing with his friends. Henry enjoyed playing soccer so much that he signed up his son Andrew. He was assistant coach last season and was looking forward to coaching this season again. Andrew is also in Little League and Henry is the person that took him to every practice and baseball game. He loved to take the kids whale watching, going to the movies with them and doing so many other things with his kids. He was always the one to make you laugh. Those were the days of happy memories. Henry misses those days but he vows to be back someday. Our world went dark when Henry was suddenly diagnosed with a brain tumor, Glioblastoma Multiforme IV in the middle of April 2007. It all began with what we thought was a normal headache. Our fears were confirmed when there was a large mass found in the left frontal lobe of Henry’s brain. Henry had surgery on April 17th to remove the mass at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange County. He was transferred to St. Jude Rehab Center on April 21st for occupational, speech and physical therapy so that he could learn to do everyday activities on his own again. He was released from the hospital on Wednesday, May 2nd but isn’t allowed to be home alone at any time. Henry started his treatment of radiation and chemotherapy on May 16th. The radiation will be for approximately 30 days, Monday thru Friday. Chemo will start with radiation on a daily basis including weekends for 42 days straight. After the radiation is completed, chemo will be for 5 days a month for approximately 2 years. We pray that God will give Henry the strength to resist this harsh treatment and that He will grant us a miracle. Fear has overcome our family. This was the beginning of having Henry’s dreams shattered. Bianca and Andrew need their daddy. He only needs to worry about getting better and putting all his strength towards winning this battle. Their home is full of memories. We all pray every single day for a miracle from up above. We ask that God continues to give Henry the strength he needs to win this battle and that he’s with us for many, many more years to come. We hope that they are able to keep the home they have built together as a family and most importantly, we beg that God brings health back to Henry. We ask you to please join us in prayer. |
